About UBS Europe SE
UBS Europe SE is the European banking subsidiary of UBS, headquartered in Frankfurt am Main and operating as a Societas Europaea under a German credit institution license. The bank provides wealth management, investment banking and asset servicing to private, corporate and institutional clients across the European Union, delivered through onshore branches in several member states (including Austria, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Sweden) and cross-border services under EU passporting rules. It was formed through the conversion of UBS Deutschland AG into an SE in 2016 and the 2019 cross-border merger of UBS Limited (UK) into UBS Europe SE, consolidating EU operations after Brexit; it is wholly owned by UBS AG within UBS Group AG. UBS Europe SE is directly supervised by the European Central Bank within the Single Supervisory Mechanism, with BaFin and the Deutsche Bundesbank involved in ongoing supervision, and it is subject to the EU CRR/CRD framework, MiFID II conduct requirements and the Bank Recovery and Resolution Directive, with resolution planning under the Single Resolution Board and applicable MREL standards. Services include discretionary and advisory mandates, securities brokerage and custody, structured products, foreign exchange, lending (including Lombard and selected-market mortgages), cash management, corporate finance and capital markets services, and fund and depositary services where licensed. Deposits are covered by the German statutory deposit guarantee scheme (Entschädigungseinrichtung deutscher Banken) up to EUR 100,000 per eligible depositor; investment and custody services are provided under German and EU investor protection rules. The bank publishes audited financial statements and Pillar 3 disclosures and reports capital and liquidity metrics (including CET1, LCR and NSFR) in line with supervisory requirements; fees and charges are disclosed in its price list. UBS Europe SE focuses primarily on high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals and on corporate and institutional clients rather than the mass retail market, product availability and booking locations depend on local law and tax considerations, and access is provided through local branches and digital channels. Following UBS Group’s acquisition of Credit Suisse in 2023, integration steps affecting European operations are being implemented in phases subject to regulatory approvals and client communications.
