About EBS

EBS dac is a small financial institution in Ireland, registered as a designated activity company. Educational Building Society (EBS) was founded in 1935 to provide affordable housing financing for teachers and public servants. Initially one of the last two Irish building societies owned by its members, EBS became a subsidiary of AIB (Allied Irish Banks) in July 2011. With 70 branches across Ireland, EBS offers housing and consumer loans, savings accounts, and investment products. EBS acted as a tied insurance agent for Irish Life, PLC, providing life and investment products, starting in 2006. All investment products sold through EBS are managed by Irish Life Investment Managers. In 2007, EBS established the subsidiary Haven Mortgages, focusing exclusively on the broker market as an independent lender. On July 1, 2011, Educational Building Society ceased to exist, becoming EBS Ltd., a subsidiary of AIB. On September 12, 2016, EBS Limited was reregistered as a designated activity company (dac) in accordance with the Companies Act 2014 and renamed EBS dac.
