About Alior bank

Alior Bank SA is a prominent universal bank based in Poland. It formed the 10th largest financial group in the country by the end of 2015, boasting over 6,000 employees. In 2019, the bank held the 7th position in terms of asset volume among Polish banks and was the first in the country to utilize the Ethereum blockchain platform for customer document verification. Established in 2008 by the Italian group Carlo Tassara, Alior Bank debuted on the Warsaw Stock Exchange in 2012. Notably, in 2013, it was among the six Polish banks that collaborated to create a joint mobile payment system, launched on February 9, 2015, under the brand name Blik. The bank became part of the WIG20 index in 2014. Since 2015, Alior Bank initiated a series of mergers and acquisitions, including Meritum Bank in 2015 and Bank BPH in 2016. The bank received accolades from Forbes and Newsweek and was recognized as the "Most Innovative Bank of the Year 2012" by BAI Global Banking Innovation Awards and "Best European Retail Bank 2015" by Retail Banker International.
